Nature and wildlife in Chenango

Chenango

Between the rolling hills of the Chenango County area runs four rivers, and along the banks of these the wildlife and waterfowl draw visitors who appreciate the rural beauty of the county. The rivers include the Susquehanna, the Chenango, the Unadilla and the Otselic. The hills divide the population into distinct communities, each with their own historic landmarks. The Chenango County area is known for its fun annual events like the Gus Macker 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament, Sherburne Pageant of Bands, Colorscape Chenango Arts Festival and the General Clinton Canoe Regatta. The area also offers trail after trail across various terrain like woodlands, meadows, wetlands, plantations and farm fields for hiking, bird watching, snowshoeing, or cross-country skiing, depending on the season.
