Adirondack Paddlefest

The nation's largest on-water paddlesports sale. Held the third weekend of May, the Adirondack Paddlefest attracks thousands of paddlers from all over to Old Forge. This on-water sale gives you the opportunity to test paddles hundreds of models of canoes, kayaks, and whitewater boats in one weekend. Paddlefest also features demonstrations and lectures by the some of the nations leading paddling experts.

The competition begins with the Jazz Band Competition on May 30th and 31st. The Pageant of Bands Parade is on June 1st at 1:00 pm. The pageant, founded by Albert Whitney and Frank L. Miller, is recognized as the largest, oldest and most respected band pageant in New York State. The bands compete for trophies and ratings, which are determined by professional judges. Pageant competitions include concert, parade, small ensemble, color guard, jazz ensemble, drum line and drum major events. Schools are placed in "classes," based on the total student population of each school district.
